Veg News recently released the list of nominees for its 2011 national "Veggie Awards."

Salt Lake City is a nominee in the "Favorite Veg-Friendly City" category while Sage's Cafe, owned by Ian Brandt (pictured here) was nominated for best "Fancy Vegetarian Restaurant."

Two Utah bakeries -- Cakewalk and City Cakes -- are in the running for "Favorite Vegan Bakery" while City Dogs is up for best vegan food cart.

Finally, the Best Friends Animal Farm Sanctuary in Kanab is a nominee in its respective category.

Fans can cast their ballot for the Utah nominees -- as well as those in more than a dozen other categories -- by clicking this survey link.

Polls close Aug. 31 at midnight. Winners will be announced in the November+December holiday edition of VegNews.com, a vegetarian lifestyle magazine.
