About this Event
The intent of this course is to arm today's young people with several internal processing tools they can access as needed regardless of their external circumstances. Helping them to look at situations through a lens of truth (rather than a distorted story) and from a place of centeredness. To immunize themselves against the destructive effects of any unkind, confusing, or demeaning messages they may receive from peers, adult figures, the media, or their own self talk. Intended to assist preteens and teens to reach self acceptance, having compassion for self and others and to enjoy internally driven growth and achievement.      Parents are invited to attend in an observer capacity only (without asking questions or making comments during the class period.) Children younger than 10 are discouraged from attending.      There are four classes in this course. Classes are one hour in length. Your ticket grants your admission to all four classes. Classes will be held at 12 pm on Thursday(s) June 14th, 21st, 28th, and July 12th.  Lunch will not be provided. Please eat prior to class. Internal processing tools that will be taught include: *Not taking things personally *Understanding what's behind people's social behavior *Not taking on other people's "stuff" *When and how to let it "ping" right off of you *Mirror work- learning to love and accept your self *Discerning truth vs. story in what you think or hear *The gratitude door that leads to healing *Expressing feelings in a safe & healthy way. Knowing just when, where, and how to do so
