Val Brinkerhoff, associate professor of photography at Brigham Young University, has traveled the world studying sites and spaces created for the worship of God. "Sacred Settings" is a rich selection of black and white and color photographs from Brinkerhoff's Sacred Places Project. Brinkerhoff on Feb. 20, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. will discuss why he created this collection of work and the symbolism that can be found in the photographs. Visit smof.org for information.

The Springville Museum of Art will host an opening reception for "Fantasia for Fall" and "Lee Cowan: Four Degrees of Separation2," Sept. 10, 2014. Fantasia for Fall weaves together the unique style and imagery of Pilar Pobil, Willamarie Huelskamp, Michal Onyon, and Emily King. Lee Cowan: Four Degrees of Separation2 is a fascinating exploration of that which is proven by laws and that which appears to defy structure. The exhibit runs until Nov. 2, 2014.
