The polls have closed, the ballots have been tallied and we are pleased to announce Owl as the new County Library mascot. As with most political campaigns, the real work begins now. Owl needs a name and anyone interested in picking their favorite name is invited to vote at their neighborhood County Library, at facebook.com/saltlakecountylibrary, and slcolibrary.org/vote through Dec. 31, 2016.

Cowboy Santa will be visiting the petting zoo at The Farm every Friday and Saturday starting Friday, November 25th from 1-6pm until Saturday December, 24th (Christmas Eve Hours are 1-4pm). Bring the little ones to enjoy an unforgettable experience sitting next to the bearded man with the red cowboy hat and boots. Pricing is $5 per child for a pass to the petting zoo. Whether you take the freeway down or a side street, you're going to want to run, run, Rudolph. After all, Santa has to make it to town for the Utah Santa Run on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 4pm. The Utah Santa is for all good little girls and boys, young and old, to come dressed in their Santa best (Santa suits provided), and enjoy a brisk race through a wintery wonderland. Elves will be on site to assist and cookies and milk will be waiting for those of you whose names end up on our 'nice' list. Presented and organized by On Hill Events. The County Library is dancing their way through the holiday season as they welcome back the annual Dickens' Christmas Ball, Dec. 15, 2016. The Old Glory Vintage Dancers will take attendees back in time through antique dances, lively games, Christmas carols and more. Dickens' era attire (1812-1870) is preferred, however modern formal is also welcome. Tickets can be purchased at the door or at OldGloryDancers.com/events.
