PETAPALOOZA TIME! Adoptable Pets! Vendors! Live Music! Food Trucks! AND MORE August 25 The County Library: Viridian Event Center, located in West Jordan at 8030 S 1830 W. Join Salt Lake County Animal Services for the 5th Annual Petapalooza, Pet Adoption Extravaganza brought to you by Tracy Thomas, Your Dog Friendly Agent and Pet Wants Sandy Utah. There will be hundreds of adoptable dogs, cats, birds/ducks, rabbits, and reptiles from over a dozen different pet rescues across Utah! Most rescues will be located inside The County Library: Viridian Event Center, located in West Jordan at 8030 S 1830 W. Adjacent to the adoption area, RoHa Brewing Project will be hosting a Beer Garden for those 21 and older. There will be pet psychics, a pet photo booth by Liz Dranow Photography, and other fun things to do with your dog. There will be face-painting (which is not only for children.) Live music by from Nick Passey (10-12:30) and Cody Mckinnon: Modern-day Crooner (1- 3:30.) Not interested in adopting a pet? Check out the 70+ vendors that will be set-up adjacent to the library at West Jordan Veterans Memorial Park. There will be great things to treat yo'self with for your home and yourself. Grab a cup of coffee at the Marmalade Coffee Co., or something else at the yummy food trucks! Spend the day watching artists fill the sidewalks with unique and exciting artwork at the County Library’s second-annual Chalk the Walk Art Festival. A free, day-long sidewalk art event where artists will get to spend the day filling the sidewalks surrounding the Library’s Viridian Event Center with unique and exciting artwork while family and friends enjoy the art, music and other festivities during the event. Don't miss out on the fun! Anyone can attend. Artists much register in advance to participate. Space is limited, so register today. Attendees may also vote for their favorite artwork as the event draws to a close.

Handy about fixing things? Sign up to be a fix-it coach at the County Library's Fix-It Clinic. The Fix-It Clinic will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Oct. 6, 2018. The County Library and the Utah Recycling Alliance are looking for passionate and patient volunteer fix-it coaches to help people assess, disassemble, repurpose and (hopefully) fix their broken items. Expected repairs include broken zippers, fabric tears, wobbly chair or table legs, bicycle chains, small household appliances, small lawnmower engines and electronics.
