Russian-American conductor and pianist Ignat Solzhenitsyn, son of Nobel-Prize winning writer and historian Aleksandr Solzhenitzyn, makes his debut leading the Utah Symphony in a program that features Mozart's "Piano Concerto No. 18," Prokofiev's "Symphony No. 7" and Hindemith's "Symphonic Metamorphosis." Mr. Solzhenitsyn, in addition to conducting, performs the Mozart piano concerto on the first half of the program, Oct. 24-25, 2014. The daredevils of Cirque de la Symphonie return to Abravanel Hall for another sensational pair of performances on Oct. 31-Nov. 1, 2014. Some of the best cirque artists in the world will join the Utah Symphony to create a dazzling combination of music and acrobatics. Principal Pops Conductor Jerry Steichen leads the spectacular music which includes selections from "Harry Potter," "Fantasia," "Hook," and more.
