Chabad Lubavitch of Utah will ignite a public Hanukkah menorah erected at Abravanel Hall Plaza, followed by a community-wide celebration, Dec. 12, 2017, the 1st night of the eight-day holiday. Following the menorah lighting ceremony, hundreds will dance, sing and enjoy the festivities of Hanukkah with hot Latkes (potato pancakes), jelly donuts, warm drinks, and a musical presentation from the students of Salt Lake City's Chai Hebrew School. In addition to the celebration on the first night, the Menorah at Abravanel Hall Plaza will be kindled nightly at 6 p.m. on all Hanukkah weeknights, 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15.
