The staff of Southern Utah University's Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery invites regional artists to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act of 1964, a landmark of U.S. legislation that began to recognize the unique nature of pristine landscapes in the United States. The staffs of SUU's Harry Reid Outdoor Engagement Center and the Gallery are collaborating on Wild Perspectives: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act, a special juried exhibition of 2D artwork focusing on Southern Utah's wilderness areas. Deadline for submissions is Oct. 3, 2014 at midnight.

The depth and breadth of contemporary ceramics are vibrantly showcased when Southern Utah University's Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery presents "50 from 6: Contemporary Ceramic Art from Six Rocky Mountain States." This exhibition is sponsored by The Friends of the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery and runs Sept. 25-Nov. 8, 2014. There will be an opening reception Sept. 24, at 6 p.m. The free event is hosted by The Friends of the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery and includes a reception with light refreshments.
