The CUAC will present "Absence, Presence," a group exhibition curated by Laura Allred Hurtado. Absence, Presence explores notions of being and the weight of nothingness, of vacuum, of vacancy. The collective work echoes a type of lingering loneliness, fragmented isolation and fractured vulnerability. The viewers' experience is also shaped in such a way as to crawl in and curl up in that space of sadness, of disruptive presence, haunting absence and to emerge out of it stitched with its color. The exhibit will run June 17-July 8, 2016. An opening reception will be held June 17, 6-9 p.m.

CUAC will present Fran O'Neill's "Magical Thinking" and Matthew Choberka's "A Beautiful Wall," exhibits July 15-Sept. 9, 2016. There will be an opening exhibit July 15, 6-9 p.m. The two solo exhibitions of abstract paintings. O'Neill creates luscious, deep, beautiful, and moving paintings that will stop foot traffic moving past the gallery in its tracks; while Choberka delves into a cerebral painterliness that challenges our notions of beauty with equal skill and domination of color.
