Located in the grand lobby of the old Rio Grande Depot, the Rio Gallery was established as a service to Utah artists, providing a free venue for emerging as well as established artists to gather and educate the community through their artwork.

Utah Arts & Museums will host its annual statewide exhibition "Utah '14: Painting & Sculpture," Nov. 21, 2014–Jan. 9, 2015, with a public reception on Nov. 21, from 6-9 p.m. where the Best in Show, Jurors' Award winners and Honorable Mentions will be announced. Visual arts competitions have been a project of Utah Arts & Museums since 1899, providing juried competitions open to artists across the state of Utah.

Utah Arts & Museums' Rio and Alice galleries are accepting proposals for visual art exhibitions in June-December of 2015. Proposals are due Feb. 2, 2015. We welcome proposals from artists, arts organizations, and independent curators. These include both solo exhibitions and small group shows of two to eight artists or larger curated/juried exhibits.
