The Salt Lake Art Design Board announces a call for professional artists and/or artist-led teams residing in Utah for a new public art commission to be integrated into McClelland Trail, a new pedestrian/bike project slated to be completed in Fall 2016. The McClelland Trail will emphasize the needs of people who walk and bike at slower speeds, such as children, people with strollers and seniors. The trail will connect residential neighborhoods to recreational opportunities, community centers, businesses and commercial areas. The Salt Lake Art Design Board seeks esthetically imaginative, site-specific, appropriately scaled artwork that will have a positive impact on and relationship to the McClelland Trail. This could include way-finding elements, seating, embedded or integrated work in the hardscape/landscape or singular sculptural works. Submissions are now being accepted through the CaFÉ online digital application process through midnight Nov. 29, 2015. To apply for this project visit www.callforentry.org or visit saltlakepublicart.org/for-artists/calls-for-artists for information.
