Brolly Arts, in conjunction with Salt Lake Public Library and Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, will present "Inland / Outland: Utah," a multi-disciplinary project featuring Icelandic visual artist Svavar Jonatansson (from Academy Award winning documentary "Chasing Ice"), and Utah composers Devin Maxwell and Matthew Durant. The collaboration has resulted in four short films composed of tens of thousands of still photographs from the Salt Flats (I-80), Arches National Park, Capitol Reef and Oljato Road. The photographic exhibit runs Aug. 9-Sept. 12, 2014. There will be a reception Aug. 9, 4–5:30 p.m. The world premier is Aug. 15, at UMOCA, 20 S. West Temple, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15-$20 and can be purchased at bit.ly/inland-outland.

Natural History Museum of Utah will present "Science Movie Night: Godzilla," Aug. 12, 2014. After the film, Nicola Barber, a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Utah's Genetic Science Learning Center, will discuss mutation and the genetic implications of radiation exposure.
