Friday September 4th, 2015 - 6:30 pm
Please join us for our ever popular annual Star Party, Sept. 4, 2015. The night will begin with a short presentation from USU physicist Mike Taylor about the Northern Lights and other mysteries of the night sky. Afterward, we will head outside to view deep space through telescopes with support from the Utah State University and University of Utah Physics Departments. Please come prepared to be outside in the chill fall evening air. Families and children are welcome, and please note that registration is required to attend. Visit swanerecocenter.org/education-calendar/calendar/star-party-2015.html for information.

Join us for a nature walk on the Preserve. You will learn about wetland science, natural plant and animal species, and the history of the Swaner Preserve. Tall grass, uneven footing, and wet ground may be encountered and can be challenging for younger children and some seniors. Participants who do not wish to do the entire 1 hour and 15 minute tour are welcome to turn around at any time during the walk. Please come prepared for outdoor conditions: sturdy boots or shoes (close-toed) are recommended along with a water bottle.
