Westminster College will present a screening of "The New World" on March 14, 2016, as part of the Ivory Tower film studies program. "The New World" is a 2005 British-American romantic historical drama film written and directed by Terrence Malick, depicting the founding of the Jamestown, Virginia, settlement and inspired by the historical figures Captain John Smith, Pocahontas of the Powatan Native American tribe and Englishman, John Rolfe. Westminster College will present a screening of Yojimbo on April 4, 2016, as part of the Ivory Tower film studies program. "Yojimbo" is a 1961 jidaigeki film directed by Akira Kurosawa. It tells the story of a ronin, portrayed by Toshiro Mifune, who arrives in a small town where competing crime lords vie for supremacy. The two bosses each try to hire the newcomer as a bodyguard.
