Monday May 2nd, 2016 - 10:00 am
The Utah Division of Arts & Museums will offer two opportunities for folk artists: Folk Arts Apprenticeships and Folk Arts Preservation Scholarships, made possible through one-time support from the National Endowment for the Arts. Folk Arts apprenticeships enable qualified individuals to study with traditional master artists of Utah's ethnic, Native, rural, and occupational communities who demonstrate a commitment to passing on cultural knowledge. The deadline for application submission is Nov. 30, 2015 or Feb. 29, 2016. Folk Arts Preservation Scholarships are intended to help individual artists, organizations, and cultural communities in the development, documentation, and presentation of their traditional art forms through the completion of a project. There is a rolling deadline for submission until May 2, 2016. Applications will be reviewed quarterly. To determine whether your project qualifies or receive technical assistance with these applications, visit uamgrants.utah.gov or contact Adrienne Decker, Folk Arts Specialist (firstname.lastname@example.org, 801-245-7286) or Laurel Cannon Alder, Grants Manager (email@example.com, 801-236-7550).
